Blog look and HTML help

Ugh, I can’t make up my mind on how I want my blog to look. I tried the themes that they have and found several that I like but when I try to select it it tells me that the html that I have for my unschooling blog button and the other buttons in that box isn’t compatible. So I just decided to try all black. But I think that it’s too hard on my eyes with the white script. Opinions? I don’t want it to be hard to read.

Also I want the pictures in my header but I also want my blog title and my quote. How in the world do I add those back in? In order to add the pictures I have to to the html header which is easy because xanga gives you the code for each picture, but not one for your own words.

Is there a website I can go to with an easy tutorial?

HELP!

Busy and Sick

The title best describes life at our house right now.

We have all been sick and it was a nasty one. Sneezing, coughing, lots of kleenex and mucho vitamin C.

We are on the mend though, some have lingering coughs but are otherwise fine.

Let’s see what else has happened??

Oh, Aly went on her first far away trip without her parents. She got to go to Florida for a week with her friend Hannah. They had a great time. At first we said no to her going. I think the thought of her going so far away was just hard for us. We trusted the family she would be going with, no worries there. It was just soooo far away.

We finally said yes and we immediately won the “Most Awesome Parents of the Year Award”

While Aly was in Florida SiSi got to go ice skating with friends.

Tuesday was our day to work at out food co-op. We LOVE our food co-op.

We went to Thursday homeschool co-op as usual.

Which reminds me that I need to do another blog on unschooling math. It was a question that came up a couple of weeks ago.

I started a pair of wool longies for Z.

I found out that a wonderful friend is expecting .

I was super excited to find out and did not have even a twinge of baby fever.

Z has cut her first tooth. I would take a picture but it’s hard enough to get her to move her tongue so you can see it without trying to capture it on camera.

I’m sewing up some cloth napkins. Pictures to come as soon as they are done.

Oh and I actually cooked three meals today! That will likely not happen again this year.

Picture Play

I was tagged by livefreeinharmony. If  you haven’t stopped by her blog you should. She is wonderfully inspiriational.

To play you go to your pictures file, go to the 6th folder open it and find the 6th picture. Post it and share about it.Then tag 6 people and leave a comment on their blog letting them know.

When I did this I had to laugh. What were the chances it would land on my “Old School” folder. It contains all of the recently scanned highschool pictures I have added to my Facebook albums. So here goes.

This is from my junior year in highschool. I was voted class president. Next to me is my friend Joelle, she was vice president. We have been friends for almost 30years now. We both have 5 kids, although she has a couple of boys. 😉 She and I have been through a lot over the years. When you say true friend she is who I talk about.

The guy in front of us is Bert. Bert was the class clown and a faithful friend to all. You couldn’t not like Bert, it just wasn’t possible. He is married and he and his wife have a sweet little boy.

We are on the lawn of our highschool. See the magnolia tree in the background? The bushes are azalea bushes. When they bloom they are beautiful.

Next time I am home I will have to see if that tree is still there. I have no idea if it made it through Hurricane Katrina.
